The assignment was to make an illustration that said something without words. When I created this, it was the beginning of the war in Ukraine in 2022. I read stories of people creating molotov cocktails in their kitchens to fight the Russians, and I thought of regrowth after war–imagining a plant growing out of what had been a bomb.
